About Big Cypress Lodge Spa
Big Cypress Lodge nails the luxury rustic aesthetic for a good reason; Johnny Morris, the founder and CEO of Bass Pro Shops, designed and created it. The Lodge originated with the idea of bringing the outdoors inside and connecting people with their love for nature.
The story of how it came to be is actually pretty unique. Morris was on a fishing trip in 2005 with a few well-known fishing buddies on the Mississippi River. As they approached the Memphis Pyramid, Johnny boldly stated that should they catch a 30-pound catfish, he would build a Bass Pro Shops store inside the iconic building. Sure enough, soon thereafter, they caught a monster catfish, and, true to his word, after years of major renovations, in 2015, he opened a Bass Pro Shops store and the Big Cypress Lodge inside the Memphis Pyramid.
Today, Big Cypress Lodge has beautiful, relaxing accommodations for traveling guests, delicious dining, a Sky High Ride to the top of the Pyramid for panoramic views of Memphis, and the Big Cypress Lodge spa.
